Bio + Journey \ Amy Skinner
Amy Skinner, LLB, BCL, is the founder and principal of Amy Skinner Law, a Calgary firm with expertise in real estate, wills, estate planning, and family law while specializing in Canadian fertility law and surrogacy agreements.
Amy received her law degree from McGill University in Montreal in 2007, earning her civil law (BCL) and common law (LLB) degrees there. She practiced law in New York City for a few years, and as an associate lawyer with the City of Calgary before opening her firm in 2017.
Originally from Alberta, Amy traveled and worked around the world before coming full circle to settle in Calgary's Bridgeland neighbourhood with her partner and their two children. A committed feminist, proud lesbian, and advocate for the LGBTQ2S+ community, Amy brings her rich experiences, worldly views, and inclusive perspective to the clients she counsels.
Amy has led many adventures, having resided in Montreal, Vancouver, Kingston, New York and Mumbai, with a stint teaching at Kingston's Prison for Women and a brief work contract with Club Med in the Dominican Republic. Great exposure, experiences, successes, and disappointments and a certain 'joie de vivre' have brought Amy to a place where she is able to help support others. Though she has many stories to tell, she's ready to listen to yours. She understands difficult family dynamics, complex relationships and the challenges of modern family making.
Amy Skinner Law is committed to helping clients plan ahead, so they feel more comfortable, confident and in control of their lives.
